"You Can't Be Too Spicy or Too Skinny" Margarita Recipe

I love a Margarita -- frozen, on the rocks, strawberry, mango, you name it! -- but I especially LOVE a Spicy Margarita, lots of jalapeno, lots of spice, lots of salt... and SKINNY is the name of the game too... bathing suit season is upon on and who wants a few extra pounds on them when they can avoid it.

Not only is this margarita low-cal, but it's fresh and delicious too! And let me be honest, the margarita pre-made mixes are just not cutting it for me anymore. Once I tried this fresh squeezed, spicy concoction, I knew I'd never go back to pre-made mixes.

And once you've tried my version of the "You Can't Be Too Spicy or Too Skinny" Margarita,... you will be hooked too!


  • 1 1/2 ounces of blanco tequila

  • 3 large limes

  • 1/4 fresh orange or splash of orange juice

  • 1/2 fresh jalapeno, sliced

  • course salt


In a cocktail shaker, place a few sliced jalapenos and muddle with a spoon.

In the shaker, add ice, tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice (using a hand juicer is easiest to do), and a the squeezed orange. Shake!

Rim a glass with the leftover squeezed lime wedge, dip glass rim in course salt (or not, if you don't want salt), pour the shaken drink into your glass, garnish with lime wheels and jalapenos!
