Punta Mita, Mexico, Here We Come -- My South of the Border Travel Review!
Updated: Jun 20, 2021
Well, actually, I visited Punta Mita, Mexico with my immediate and extended family back in April, 2015. But I recently discovered all the pictures from that trip on my old phone and with Cinco de Mayo in a few days, I thought it would be nice to take a trip down Memory Lane.

Punta Mita, Mexico is a town located on the north end of Banderas Bay in the Mexican state of Nayarit. We flew into Puerto Vallarta and then took a van ride through town and about 30 minutes later we arrived at our vrbo, a condo that was situated on the grounds of the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico.
Our condo fit 9 people! It was huge! And each condo had a golf cart assigned to them so you could ride around the resort and visit the St. Regis pool or take the short golf cart ride to the Four Seasons. It was all so beautiful.

Mostly we hung by the pool right outside our condo, but each night, we took the golf cart into town to have dinner. We loved the restaurant Si Senor (I believe they changed the name so click here for the restaurant as it stands today)! Located right on the beach, the waitstaff would bring the freshly caught fish right to your table to pick which one you wanted. And they, of course, made guacamole to order tableside too! We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we ate there the first night, went back for after-dinner drinks mid-week AND ate there the last night!
On the days we decided to venture out from our condo pool, we lounged by the beautiful pool at the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort to sip Bloody Mary's, Margaritas, and People Watch. The staff there would pass out complimentary (non-alcoholic ice pops, kid-friendly!) and we ate fresh soft tacos on the beach -- heaven on earth!
Is a fishing trip in your future when you vacation in Mexico? It was in ours! We had rented the fishing boat and crew through the condo association and with a short ride to the water from the condo, we had a wonderful time!

Honestly, I thought we wouldn't catch ANY fish, but miraculously we did, the kids were thrilled and the crew fileted the fish and we brought it back with us to have the resort prepare fish tacos for everyone!
When you are in Punta Mita, Mexico, you MUST visit the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico... it is the most beautiful resort I have EVER SEEN! The view! The staff! The beach! We ate a sushi dinner there and watched the sunset and I put that resort on my bucket list to come back and visit and stay in their rooms. Please visit here, even for lunch or drinks, you won't be disappointed!

One day on our trip, we decided to take a break from the sun and pile into a van and visit the local town of Sayulita, Mexico, which is a small fishing town about a 10 minute drive from the condo we stayed at. Shops, restaurants, street vendors and the BEACH greeted us! After buying many trinkets and souvenirs in the quaint shops, we ate lunch on the beach (you guessed it, FISH TACOS) and enjoyed a leisurely stroll through town and capped our day off with some refreshing ice cream.
This trip to Punta Mita, Mexico was AMAZING -- I still think about it a lot and seeing these pictures again really brought the memories home. I can't wait to go back but in the meantime, I'm going to grab a few limes, the special glasses we bought on our trip and make my "You Can't Be Too Spicy or Too Skinny" Margarita and remember...
