Are you Nuts? Or just Bananas (Bread) Recipe?
Updated: Jun 20, 2021
When I joined Facebook a million years ago, I remember seeing a lot of people post about what they were making or baking, and I saw sooooo many Banana Bread recipes on Facebook. I laughed, and was like, why would anyone care about your Banana Bread???

Well, here I am posting MY Banana Bread recipe online -- so I guess I should apologize for being so judgy all those years ago, LOL.
We all have bananas turning brown on our counter (and lettuce turning brown in the fridge but that's another article for another time) and you can freeze them for later, make smoothies, or make banana bread, of course!
My mother, Annie, (meet her in the Annie's Tomato & Basil Tart recipe!) taught me how to cook when I was a teen and this is her Banana Bread recipe. It's simple, can be whipped up in less than 5 minutes, and makes the house smell like a delicious banana bread candle!
I LOVE my mom's version of her banana bread and it reminds me of baking with her, but I wanted to add something to change things up a bit. I've done chocolate chips before, walnuts... but I've never done PEANUT BUTTER.
My daughter LOVED this peanut butter version of my mom's banana bread (my middle child prefers it without the peanut butter, but he doesn't like chocolate so maybe his opinion doesn't count??? LOL, who doesn't like chocolate????) -- she loved it so much, she asked me to bake another one!
I hope you go as nuts as my daughter did over my "Are You NUTS or just BANANAS Bread!"

Ingredients
1 stick of butter, softened
1/2 cup Skippy peanut butter
2 cups of flour
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
3 ripe Chiquita bananas
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Soften the butter & peanut butter in a large bowl in the microwave.

Add the flour, sugar, 2 eggs and the baking soda. Break up the bananas (peels removed, of course) and add to the bowl.
With a hand mixer on low, mix the ingredients. I like to mash the bananas with the beaters first so it's easier for the hand mixer to handle.
Spray the inside of a bread pan with spray oil. Spoon in the batter.
Bake for 1 hour. Let cool, slice and enjoy!
